Animal Collective Music Video: Brothersport

Animal Collective released an album last year so fantastic that it earned the #3 spot in my Top 40 Albums of 2009. It was a bit more accessible than their previous albums but it did the job because there were so many great songs in that collection. A few that come to mind are “My Girls,” “Bluish”and of course the track that accompanies this video below.
“Brothersport” has a sound that is jungle and “native” like and it doesn’t surprise me to see that the video has two little kids dressed to fit the song’s tone. However, I didn’t expect the video to be more trippy than their last video.
It’s over six minutes long, but its plunge into a hallucinogenic world makes it hard to turn away. Humans, animals, monsters – you name it. This video has it all. Animal Collective’s videos have always been impressive and this one doesn’t disappoint.
Watch it below. It’s like taking acid.
Animal Collective Music Video: In The Flowers

Animal Collective has gained popularity for their swirl of hallucinogenic music that soothes as well as rushes your adrenaline. So it’s not a surprise their new video for “In The Flowers,” a track off of their latest album Merriweather Post Pavilion, looks exactly what it sounds like.
Directed by Avey Tare’s sister, Abigail Portner, the video boasts trippy images that range from marionettes to real life contemporary dancers who are just as creepy. The drawings are the best part. Check it out below!
